Gardaí are continuing to appeal for witnesses following a collision in Monaghan Town.
The incident occurred on the Broad Road before 1am on Saturday morning.
A man in his 50s was struck by an SUV and was brought to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda, for treatment of the serious injuries he had sustained.
Gardaí are appealing to anyone who witnessed the incident to come forward.
In addition, they are appealing to road users who were in the area at the time and may have camera footage (including dash-cam) to make it available to the investigation.
