Gardai has issued advice following a number of burglaries which were reported across Co Monaghan.
They've advised locals from keeping large amounts of cash in their home.
Gardai also recommends keeping a record of the details and photographs of any valuable items in your home.
This will assist the Gardai in the event that any items are stolen and a description of the stolen property is required.
Almost 1 in 4 summer time burglaries involve entry through an unsecured access point, Gardai also encourage people to lock all doors and windows.
