Gardaí in Monaghan are advising motorists to expect delays as Monaghan face Donegal in the Ulster Senior Championship in Clones this afternoon.
To help alleviate congestion there are several access routes.
For Monaghan supporters, the access is via R183 via Newbliss he Roslea Rd and N54 via Monaghan.
For Donegal supporters, access is viaN54 via Monaghan, the N54 via Cavan, A34 via Newtownbutler, B143 from Newtownbutler via Magheraveely, and the B36 from Donagh via Derrynawilt Cross.
Travelling from Emyvale on the N2, Monaghan can be avoided by turning right for L16302 (Ballyalbany) just before Circle K and following the Council Detour signs, which will direct motorists back onto the N54.
There are parking facilities on each of these access roads. Including large areas off the B143 & B36 close to the ground.
Gardaí are encouraging everyone to use the several car parks in the town.
There is parking on the Scotshouse Rd at ABP and others and they can be accessed from the Newbliss Road and Cavan Road at the Round Tower Bar.
Many of these car parks are collecting for charity and local clubs.
There will be no access to the Official Car Park for pass holders after 1pm via Clones Town centre or earlier if there are large crowds of pedestrians in the area.
Gardaí have also said the Diamond will be fully closed to traffic to facilitate coach parking.
Road closures will be in place from 10am and will remain until pedestrian traffic clears the area around the pitch.
Monaghan County Council has provided public toilets at the Farmyard (between the Creighton Hotel and the Church).
Finally Gardaí have urged supporters to use the bins provided, keep Clones tidy, and to enjoy the game.
Don't forget we'll have live coverage of Monaghan vs Donegal on Sunday sport later on today.
