Gardai in Kingscourt are investigating the unauthorised taking of two vehicles from the carpark known locally as the old Super Valu carpark on Church Street in Kingscourt.
The thefts took place yesterday between 11.30am and 2pm.
This carpark is used as an overflow for people attending Kingscourt Mart.
Shortly after 2pm, both attendees of the mart returned to the carpark to find both of their vehicles which had trailers attached were stolen.
Both trailers were unhitched and left in situ however both jeeps were gone.
The first jeep is described as a Blue Toyota Hilux with a registration number 181MN 2033.
The second is a Grey Toyota Landcruiser, registration 211 LD 15.
Within this vehicle was a very much loved family pet, who goes by the name of Rusty and who is brown in colour with white paws.
According to Gardai, the vehicles left the car park, turned right and on out the Nobber / Navan Road.
A black Honda Accord was in convoy with these vehicles.
Garda Lisa Stevens of Bailieboro Garda Station is appealing for anyone with information to contact Kingscourt or Bailieboro Garda Station.
She told Northern Sound: "We are appealing to any persons within the town of Kingscourt who may recall the black Honda Accord acting suspiciously prior to taking the jeeps. We are appealing to any persons who may have travelled from Nobber towards Kingscourt that have dash-cam footage of all three vehicles leaving the area. We are also appealing to all persons to keep a look out for Rusty who may have been discarded along the route. Any information no matter how insignificant you think it may be will be of assistance to us."
