The number of reported crimes in Carrickmacross dropped last year according to Gardaí.
In a statement issued to Northern Sound, An Garda Síochána say that reported crime dropped by 4% between 2023 and 2024 in the Carrickmacross area.
They also say that the number of Gardai in the region of Louth/Cavan/Monaghan has increased by 16% compared to 10 years ago.

It comes as a public meeting is due to be held this evening in the town over growing unease in the Carrickmacross area.
