GoFundMe set up to support family of father killed in Cavan crash

Mr McBride died in the collision involving a car and a lorry, which happened on the R192 at Corcloughan.

A GoFundMe appeal has been set up to support the family of a man who died following a fatal collision in Co Cavan.

The appeal has so far raised  €21,127 with a target of  €28,000.

Father of six David McBride lost his life in a fatal crash that occurred early on Monday morning between Shercock and Cootehill.

Mr McBride who was aged in his 40s was well known across the region by local shop owners as he delivered newspapers every morning.
In an online post, David was described as an hard working man, a lovely man, a person that enjoyed a good chat and someone that always spoke so fondly of his family.

A statement on the GoFundMe appeal read: "We are hoping to raise funds after the tragic accident that took the life of our dear friend, son, husband and father David, David was husband to his beautiful wife Paula and daddy to his 6 amazing little boys who idolised him, as you can imagine the grief is overwhelming for all concerned, we hope to lessen the burden by attempting to cover David's funeral costs with this go fund me, please donate whatever you can it will be appreciated."
