It's important for parents of children with additional needs in Monaghan to be listened to at Government level.
That's according to Fianna Fail Senator Robbie Gallagher.
Earlier this week, members of the Special Needs Active Parents campaign group also known as SNAP met with Minister of State at the Department of Education and Youth Michael Moynihan.
Senator Gallagher said it's hard to beat face to face interaction when wanting to get such an important message across.
He said SNAP members Paddy McAloon and Pamela Kenny outlined in great detail the requirements that young people with additional needs have in Co Monaghan.
Senator Gallagher said progress has been made in this area, although it has been slow.
