The hall in Ballyconnell recently received €300,000 from the Community Centres Investment Fund for upgrades and improvement works to the facility.
The investment is part of a €20m fund that has been initiated by Minister Heather Humphreys to support community groups impacted by the rising cost of living.
Cllr Peter McVitty told Northern Sound that Ballyconnell Community Centre was a "fine building" at the heart of the locality.

He also pointed out that it does need renovation works to "bring it up to modern day standard".
The local councillor added that once works are complete, plans will be initiated to bring the hall back into community ownership:
