Former Minister Heather Humphreys has been selected as the Grand Marshal for Monaghan Town's St Patrick's Day Parade.
The Parade will take place today at 3pm and this year's theme is 'Irish Legends'.
Cathaoirleach of the Monaghan Municipal District, Sean Conlon expressed his "delight" stating that due to her previous work obligations, the former Minister would have been overseas representing the Government at this time of
year.
Cllr Conlon said the selection of Mrs Humphreys as Grand Marshal is an "acknowledgment" of the great record of work that she contributed during her time as a TD and a Minister, not only for this region but for the country:
