A HGV has been seized in Cavan following a number of offences.
Cavan Roads Policing detected a truck travelling at 102kph in an area where the speed limit is 80kph for the vehicle.
On further inspection, it was discovered the truck's tachograph calibration was expired and the tyres on the drive axle were excessively worn.

The CVRT was also expired on the lorry while a suspected manipulating device affecting the speed limiter found, and worn brake linings were found.
The HGV was seized and further tests are due to be carried out on it by the RSA.
