The number of people infected with Norovirus is on the increase, as the HSE warns people to be aware of the signs and symptoms.
According to the HSE, cases have reached high levels in recent weeks and outbreaks in hospitals are also increasing
Consultant in Public Health Medicine, at the HSE Dr. Paul McKeown says some of the symptoms to watch out for are vomiting and diarrhoea.
He said: "Its the commonest cause of gastroenteritis. Classically, causes vomiting, diarrhoea, nausea, sometimes, fever, headache stomach cramp.
"Normally symptoms begin a day or two after you become infected, and they last two to three days," he added.
