Kingscourt woman voices concern over local bus services

Amy Cunningham has called for bus services in Kingscourt to be improved urgently.

A Kingscourt woman has raised her concerns over the 107 bus route from Kingscourt to Navan.

Amy Cunningham claims that Bus Eireann is "refusing" to pick passengers up in Kingscourt if the bus stop is full of cars.

Speaking to Northern Sound, the Kingscourt woman described the current situation as a "disgrace" on behalf of Bus Eireann as it is not at the fault of the passengers.

Amy also highlighted her concerns in relation to the same bus route not showing up on numerous occasions.

With no bus shelter in Kingscourt, the local woman says elderly passengers have been left waiting in the cold and rain with no access to a phone device to check if the bus has been cancelled or not.

As a result, Amy has called for bus services in Kingscourt to be improved urgently, especially when it comes to the lack of bus routes available in the local area: "I feel so sorry for the elderly people who are standing waiting on a bus and if the bus doesn't show how are they meant to know that the bus isn't running? We have no actual bus stop or bus shelter, or live signage to say what time the bus is due in Kingscourt at. Bus drivers are saying that cars are parking at the bus stop and therefore they have no room to park up but that's not the case."
