The legacy of St Tiernach will be celebrated this Friday in Clones.
The Clones Community Forum are hosting a range of events to celebrate the patron saint of Clones and Bishop of Clogher, after which many local places
are named after.
There are also aims to revive a local pilgrimage walk that links Clones and Clogher via Sliabh Beagh, which was discovered on maps from the 1600's.
Friday's event include a torch lit procession through the town via the Diamond to St Tiernach's Sarcophagus, along with music from the Different Keys Choir and the Graham Memorial Pipe Band.
Anne Corley, who's the Local History and Genealogy Officer at the Cassandra Hand Folk and Famine Centre says St Tiernach has an important association with Clones and the surrounding area.
