A local councillor is calling on all political parties need to engage with plans and preparations for a united Ireland.
Stiofan Conaty's comments come as Sinn Fein brings a Ireland Unity Bill in front of the Dail today.
The legislation was introduced in the Dáil by the party Leader Mary Lou McDonald and will go to second stage debate tonight.
Cllr Conaty noted that this follows numerous county and city councils around Ireland facilitating those conversations, with Cavan County Council being among the first to put forward a motion urging the Government to make plan and preparations.
Speaking to Northern Sound he said this is not just a Sinn Fein issue, and called on all political parties to engage with the issue.
