Cllr Richard Truell has requested that Monaghan County Council's roads department as part of the 2626 roadworks programme undertake a review of current pothole repair practices.
Following this review, Cllr Truell hopes that the local authority can implement a more effective and durable long term repair strategy for roads throughout the county.
Cllr Truell says local road surfaces have deteriorated to a very poor state.

He also believes that existing repair methods have not proven sufficiently resilient to adverse weather.
