A Monaghan councillor hopes a major upgrade of the N2 will enhance connectivity in the county.
Monaghan County Council has been working with the TII to significantly upgrade the 28km section of the N2/A5 Dublin-Derry Road.
The project is supported by local, regional and national policy, and also forms part of the EU's Trans-European Transport Network.
The development will bypass Monaghan Town, Emyvale village and the settlement of Corracrin, and aims to remove traffic congestion and improve safety for all road users.
It will also create opportunities for new and upgraded footpaths and cycleways for Active Travel along the length of the road.
Three public information events are to take place at the Clontibret Community Centre, starting on the 16th of July from 3pm to 8pm, and all are welcome to attend.
