A local councillor says a delegation seeking targeted and specific funding from the Department of Transport for roads adjacent to the N3.
Cllr Shane P O'Reilly outlined that the roads are being used as "rat runs", and that there is an urgent need to address the issues.
He said the roads are disintegrating and were not designed for the amount of traffic that travels on them.

There is concerns that danger is due to a combination of deteriorating roads and driver behaviour.
Speaking to Northern Sound he called for urgent action to avoid serious incidents on the route.
