A local councillor asked for an update on flood relief schemes in the Redhills, Castletara, and Ballyhaise areas.
The issue was highlighted by Councillor Stiofan Conaty at the most recent meeting of the Bailiborough - Cootehill Municipal District.
He noted that recent storms left several roads impassable, with some children forced to travel to school on tractors and some residents trapped in their homes.
He said that while a flood alleviation scheme exists, applications for works in these areas were rejected this year, leaving many residents frustrated.
In response, the executive stated that no works are planned for this year, but the reported areas will be considered under next year's programme.
Speaking to Northern Sound, Cllr Conaty said he's bitterly disappointed to hear that there is no funding this year.
