A local councillor has recently sought an update on the Workhouse project for Carrickmacross.
Cllr PJ O'Hanlon raised the issue at the most recent meeting of Carrickmacross - Castleblayney Municipal District.
In response he was told that is moving forward with funding for the Workhouse project in Carrick, seeking approximately €10 million under the current RDF Category 1 scheme.

Cllr O'Hanlon has shared his concerns about the total project cost will exceed the grant, and ensuring that the building will be able to be sustained financially.
Speaking to Northern Sound he stressed the importance of ensuring the project's finances before construction begins.
