Seachtain na Gaeilge, the international Irish language festival affords a wonderful opportunity to promote and celebrate the Irish language.
That's according to local councillor and Irish teacher Aine Smith.
She says it's our native language and it's our beautiful language and it should be preserved for generations to come. Cllr Smith says it fabulous to see and hear the language being used especially among younger people.

The Cavan teacher says she believes its certainly becoming much cooler to speak and use our native language. Cllr Smith is encouraging everyone to use a cupla focail to celebrate Seachtain na Gaeilge.
