The local fire service has issued a warning about the dangers of fireworks ahead of Halloween.
Hugh Gallagher, Assistant Chief Fire Officer with Monaghan Fire and Civil Protection says there is a level of personal responsibility that is needed when it comes to the use and misuse of fireworks.
People are being encouraged to only attend licenced events and displays in the area.
