A Monaghan man will attempt to make history this week in America.
Paralympian, Shane McLoughlin is on a mission to take his on his fifth Guinness World record over the past 10 months.
Shane McLoughlin is setting his sights on achieving the extraordinary feat by pulling a 40 tonne truck in New York. The 53-year-old’s renown for embarking on such grueling demonstrations of physical strength first came to prominence in May, courtesy of an 18-tonne truck pull in Dublin.
The local man says this week's world record attempt is his 'American dream' which centers around highlighting truck pulling to the world. Shane says this was always about getting the sport into the Paralympic Games in Los Angeles in 2028.
