The opening of a new duty room in Monaghan helped Samaritans reach out to more people in need of its services.
That's according to Executive Director Sarah O'Toole who launched the Samaritans' report for 2025 today.
According to figures released this morning, volunteers answered one thousand calls a day, with loneliness and isolation identified as the main concerns raised by callers.
Last year, a duty room was opened in Monaghan town - the 25th Samaritans site across the island of Ireland.
