Sgt Stephen McCabe from Clones Garda Station says if it is too good to be true, then it probably is.
Sgt McCabe says it's not just on your computer or your phone that dangers exist.
He says cold calling to people's homes is something that people need to be aware of.
Sgt McCabe says the majority of the people targeted in this way are middle aged and elderly people.
The local sergeant says if you are victim of a scam it should be reported.
He says this way people can be aware of the dangers and the Gardai can investigate the crime and file the information on the incident.
