Thousands of farmers from across the country have descended on Athlone today to protest against the Mercosur Trade Deal.
It comes as EU member states voted in favour of the deal yesterday with Ireland voting No.
The deal will open the EU market to almost a hundred thousand tonnes of South American beef a year.
