Gardaí in County Monaghan are appealing for people to be cautious in relation to scams around tarmac.
In recent weeks, Gardaí have received reports of workmen calling to homes and offering tarmacadam services.
They will approach people saying they have tarmac left over from another job, and give the impression the job will be done at no cost.

The job will be done but it's then reported that they will demand payment.
