Locals have expressed their shock following the collapse of bridge near Blacklion in recent days.
The incident occurred following recent heavy rainfall and significant damage was caused to the road. Cavan County Council is currently assessing the damage to Mullaghboy Bridge on the L-1012-0 at Gowlan in Blacklion.
In a statement issued to Northern Sound today, Cavan County Council say that the bridge repair is being given priority.

There is currently no confirmed date for reopening of the bridge. Local man, Shane McManus says the road closure is causing a sufficient inconvenience on him and other people in the area.
