Locals urged to 'make the most' of sunny spell

The Met Eireann forecaster has urged people to take great care in relation to the sun.

We're being advised to make the most of the sunny and dry weather while it lasts.

That's according to Co Monaghan meteorologist Gerry Murphy.

Temperatures are expected to reach between 25 and possibly 28 degrees over Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

The RTÉ weather presenter says it's important for locals to take great care around water and protecting themselves in the sun.

As high pressures will dominate the weather over Ireland from tomorrow, Carrickmacross man Gerry Murphy is encouraging locals, particularly those in the farming community to make the most of the good weather while it's here.

He says while dry weather and sunshine will remain over the weekend, from Sunday night temperatures will drop with more cloud and showers expected from then onwards:
