Planning permission has been conditionally approved for a major housing development in Carrickmacross.
Moffett Investment Holdings applied for planning permission for the construction of 72 new houses in the area earlier this year.
Permission has been granted subject to 25 conditions.
In April of this year, Monaghan based Moffett Investment Holdings applied to Monaghan County Council to construct 72 new houses in the town.
Monaghan County Council has approved the development of 72 No. dwellings comprising of the following: 2 No. Two-Storey 4 Bed detached, 4 No. Two-Storey 3 Bed detached, 54 No. Two-Storey 3 Bed semi-detached, 8 No. Two-Storey 2 Bed semi-detached, 4 No. One and a half Storey 4 Bed detached.
Works also include a new vehicular entrance onto an existing public access together with a new pedestrian footpath, connections to mains services including water, foul and storm, new playground, associated open space, landscaping & boundary treatments together with all associated works at Kilmactrasna & Mullanarry, Carrickmacross
Permission for the work has been granted subject to 25 conditions.
Within the conditions, developers are required to pay financial contributions towards, community, infrastructure and amenities and provide a bond to guarantee completion of the works.
The conditions also set strict rules on construction hours, road safety measures, landscaping standards, underground service installation and environmental safeguards.
In it's decision, Monaghan County Council noted that provided there is no appeal against this decision a grant of planning permission will issue at the end of four weeks.
