Council crews across Cavan and Monaghan have been working since early this morning as a result of Storm Chandra to clear fallen trees and remove debris from affected routes.
Flooding has caused partial collapse of several local roads. This has led to closures, diversions and driving conditions remain challenging in a number of areas.
In Co Cavan, the L5552 at Elteen, outside Ballyhaise, is completely flooded and impassable.
Cavan County Council is urging people to avoid the area and use alternative routes.
The R191 Cootehill-Canningstown Road at Drumgoon (Sharp's Bend) is impassable due to rising water levels from the Annalee River.
Motorists travelling between Cootehill and Bailieborough are advised to divert via Shercock.
Traffic lights are now in operation at Station Road, Cootehill. ESB crews are on site and working to reinstate power to the area.
The R212 at Mullalougher (Treehoo to Ballyhaise) is flooded, however the route is passable with care.
The HGV has now been removed from the R199 Crossdoney to Killeshandra Road at Drumgoon. Traffic management may remain in place for the next few days while verge repairs are completed.
The R191 at Sharp's Bend (townland of Killyrue) is flooded. It is passable with extreme care, but water levels are rising.
The L6122 at Dignavanty is flooded and impassable.
There is a fallen on the Mullagh to Whitegate Road at Cloughbally Upper just off the N3, local farmers are at the scene.
Elsewhere, in Co Monaghan, the R181 Shantonagh to Lough Egish Road is flooded and Laragh Village.
Localised flooding has also occurred along the Castle Road, adjacent to Monaghan Town Shopping Centre.
Castle Road is currently closed due to flooding, and traffic management measures are in place for safety.
The Ballybay to Doohmalet Road is currently closed due to flooding as well as the Ballybay to Shercock Road.
A tree is down on the N2 between Castleblayney and Carrickmacross.
