Local councillors in Ballyjamesduff Municipal District have come together to allow for major improvements to the road running from Maghera cross to Cliffergoole cross.
According to Cllr Shane P O'Reilly it's a 650,000 euro investment on the route that runs alongside the N3.
The local councillor has long highlighted the condition of the road which is used like other roads close to the N3 to avoid Virginia.
Cllr O'Reilly said it was a collective effort to get these works announced.
He said the funding was coming directly from the local MD to see these works completed.
