A man in his 30s is in custody this morning after an alleged serious assault in Tipperary.
A man in his 80s remains in a critical condition in hospital after the alleged attack in the town.
It happened in St Michael's Avenue just after half 9 on Friday night.
The man is being held at a Garda Station in the county where he can be questioned for up to 24 hours.
