An investigation is underway following an alleged assault in Monaghan Town.
The incident occurred on Dublin St last Thursday afternoon at 4.15pm.
A man, aged in his 40s was removed from the scene to Cavan General Hospital with serious injuries. Northern Sound FM understands the man was attacked by at least two individuals at a licensed premises in the town.
Gardai say investigations are ongoing at this time. Meanwhile, Gardai are continuing to investigate an incident at a residential property later that evening last Thursday in Monaghan.
A man aged in his 20s, the occupant of the house was allegedly attacked when a number of people entered the property and assaulted him.
Gardai say he was taken to Cavan General Hospital for treatment due to the injuries he sustained. Investigations are ongoing at this time and Northern Sound FM understands this incident occurred in the Glenview estate in the town. It's understood the same property has been at the centre of alleged attacks on the home in recent weeks.
