The man aged in his 50s arrested in connection with the discovery of €5.25M of cocaine has been charged.
He is due to appear before a sitting on Monaghan District Court tomorrow morning at 10:30am.
The woman aged in her 40s has been released without charge, a file will be prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.
As part of ongoing investigations targeting organised crime under Operation Tara, personnel attached to the Garda National Drugs & Organised Crime Bureau supported by the Dublin Crime Response Team conducted an intervention of a number of vehicles and searched a business premise in Co. Monaghan on Friday 13th March 2026.
During the course of the operation, Gardaí seized suspected cocaine with an estimated value of €5.25 million.
This operation was supported by the Custom Revenue Service, local Units in Monaghan and international partners from the Belgian Federal Maritime Police.
The seized drugs will be sent to Forensic Science Ireland (FSI) for analysis.
