Man aged in his 30s dies following Cavan Town house fire

The incident occurred in the early hours of this morning in the wider residential area of Drumgola Woods.

The alarm was raised at 11.55am and local fire services along with Gardai attended the scene.

Gardai remain at the house this lunchtime as a technical examination of the scene is carried out.

Northern Sound FM understands the property has no visible exterior damage following the late night fire. It’s understood the young man is originally from Poland.

The body of the deceased has been removed from the scene to Cavan Mortuary where a post mortem will take place in due course.

Investigations are continuing.
