A man has been further remanded in jail in connection to an investigation into the assault of a Garda in Co Monaghan.
24-year-old Vincentas Miksta of Riverview, Ballinode, Co Monaghan faces five charges that includes the alleged assault of a Garda on Thursday the 16th of April.
The incident occurred outside the Church of the Most Holy Rosary, Tullycorbet.
The charges include section 3 assault causing serious harm, misuse of drugs, sale and supply of cocaine along with attempting to escape from Gardai and the obstruction of a Garda.
Mr Miksta appeared by video link in front of Judge Raymond Finnegan at Monaghan District Court today and was further remanded to allow for DPP directions.
Mr Miksta will appear again on Monday the 25th of May via video link at Monaghan District Court.
