A man has been remanded in jail over a drugs seizure in Kingscourt.
Gardaí in Kingscourt were on patrol on Tuesday night when they went to conduct a search of a vehicle and its occupants for drugs.
The male passenger gave Gardaí a false name before obstructing Gardaí and fled the scene on foot.
Gardaí apprehended the man and he was detained and was found to be in possession of cocaine with a street value worth over €2,000, a digital weighing scales along with so called deal bags.
There was also numerous Bench Warrants out for his arrest.
The male was arrested and then detained at Bailieboro Garda Station.
The male was charged with numerous offences including Possession of Controlled Drugs for Sale or Supply.
He appeared before Cavan District Court yesterday and was remanded in Castlerea Prison.
