A manhunt continues for a man involved in serious hit-and-run in Cavan yesterday.
Gardaí and emergency services attended the scene of the crash which took place on L1513 Drumlark, Loreto Wood, shortly before 6:45pm.
The crash involved a vehicle and a pedestrian.
The female pedestrian, aged in her 20s was injured and taken to Cavan General Hospital for treatment for non life-threatening injuries.
The male passenger, aged in his 20s, was seriously injured and remains in critical condition.
It is believed that the male driver of the vehicle who left the scene on foot is a 27-year-old criminal.
According to the Irish Independent, the driver of the car was released from prison last year after serving a six-year sentence after he admitted being the getaway driver for an armed robbery at a post office in which a female staff member was terrorised by his two accomplices.
Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed this collision and any road users or pedestrians who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were in the area between 6.30pm and 7pm are asked to make this footage available to investigating Gardaí.
