Sinn Féin Leader Mary Lou McDonald visited the region today as she met with perspective voters in the upcoming Presidential Election.
She was pounding the pavements of Kingscourt and Ballybay in the region this afternoon to drum up support for Catherine Connolly.
Along with Sinn Féin, Ms Connolly is supported by Labour, the Social Democrats, People Before Profit and the Green Party.
This afternoon Mary Lou was joined by local senator Pauline Tully and local councillor Stiofán Conaty as they campaigned for Independent Candidate Catherine Connolly.
Ms McDonald took aim at Fine Gael Presidential candidate Heather Humphreys while in Cavan, she said there was a choice between a Government candidate a fully independent candidate.
While speaking to Northern Sound, the Sinn Féin leader described the housing situation here as a full blown crisis, Ms McDonald added that the Government and Heather Humphreys have made out that housing is a challenge.
When asked about the election thus far, she said it was exciting and she was looking forward to getting out and meeting as many people as possible to highlight her support for Ms Connolly.
When asked about if she should have run in the Presidential Election now in hindsight, Ms McDonald had this to say.
