A Monaghan-based respite emergency care service has received a mixed review from HIQA inspectors.
It follows an unannounced inspection in February.
Zamab Care Limited provides respite and short-term emergency care to children and young adults aged between 4 and 18.
The house is a detached two-storey property located in Longfield, Castleblayney, and has four bedrooms, a playroom, bathroom, kitchen and living room.
Over a two-day unannounced inspection on the 20th of February this year, HIQA inspectors met two residents, two staff on duty, an operations manager, the director of services, and the managing director of the company.
They noted the centre was equipped with two staff vehicles to allow for access to varied activities within the community, and that the staff team was made up of social care workers and team leaders.
However, a non-compliance was found in risk management and safeguarding, as all staff had had not received training in fire and evacuation safety.
Inspectors also found that improvements were required in record-keeping, as the centre did not maintain an appropriate record of admissions and discharging of patients.
Overall, the residents appeared to enjoy a good quality of life and had access to meaningful activities and choices they made.
The centre received six non-compliances, five substantial compliances, and only one compliance.
The provider will now have to take action within a reasonable timeframe to come into compliance.
