Monaghan’s local economy has been given a major boost following the green light for an expansion of its headquarters.
Greenfield Foods Ltd has received the go-ahead to add a single storey extension to the rear of its premises alongside an additional loading area at its plant located near Smithboro.
The Monaghan business is Ireland’s largest egg packing distributor.
Greenfield Foods Ltd employs in the region of 100 people at its purpose built premises.
The plans also provided for a single storey detached package storage building and pallet storage equivalent.
The second part of the company’s development plans is to develop a two storey extension to the front and side of its main offices.
Monaghan County Council approved the submission with 7 conditions attached.
