A Co Monaghan councillor has called on locals to be mindful of misinformation circulating across the areas of Castleblayney, Ballybay and Carrickmacross.
Sinn Féin's Paul Gibbons says rumours have been circulating for quite some time over the use of various buildings across the local area.
Cllr Gibbons says representatives like himself and his party colleagues have been "consistent" in giving the people of Castleblayney, Ballybay and Carrickmacross "accurate" and "verified" information only.
Speaking to Northern Sound, Cllr Gibbons asked for people to "consider the source" when they hear rumours of this nature and to think about how realistic they might be.
He described some of the rumours relayed back to him as "fanciful" however some did cause concern which led to people reaching out for clarification.
