Monaghan County Council will ask Minister Eamon Ryan to carry out an assessment on the undergrounding of the north south interconnector infrastructure.
Cllr Pat Treanor made the calls during a discussion on the project at today’s monthly meeting of the local authority.
A judicial review at the High Court in Belfast upheld the Planning Approvals for the project last month.

Cllr Treanor says a ‘comprehensive assessment’ is needed because undergrounding may be the only way forward.
