Monaghan Music and Piano’s in Ballinode in Co. Monaghan buy and sell piano's that are sold all over the world.
It is a family run business, owned and operated by the Niall McClean, and his wife Catriona.
The McClean’s have been running the business for over 20 years.
Niall McClean’s father made and sold furniture in the 1970s, as well as selling pianos.
When Niall took over the business, he specialised in reconditioning and repurposing grand pianos.
Speaking to Northern Sound, the Monaghan man explained the different types of pianos in his shop.
Niall said: "We sell more of the used Yamaha, which is Japanese. Also we have the premium pianos, Steinway. We've sold a few of those to concert halls and theatres.
"Steinway are the rolls royce of pianos. The best and most expensive. Yamaha, we import a lot of used. They're better value- you get a lot of piano for a better price," he added.
Pianos restored in Co. Monaghan have been used all over the world.
Niall explained that he operates as a wholesaler.
He highlighted where his pianos are sent across the world.
"I'm actually going out to Madrid next week, we supply a dealer out there. We send containers to a guy in Florida in Orlando, and we supply a guy in the Martinique Island in the Carribian. Also, we supply a guy in South America. We're kept very busy!" Niall added.
