Cameron McMeel who is a Heavy Vehicle Mechanic apprentice at Monaghan County Council has been awarded with the national Apprentice of the Year award.
The Corryarabeg man's win has put a strong spotlight on Monaghan talent.
Cameron was selected as one of 12 award winners to win a prestigious 'Apprentice of the Year' Industry Award from over 330 nominations nationwide.
The nominated apprentices represent exceptional talent and skills from the four corners of Ireland, across 78 apprenticeship programmes.
The awards spotlight the vital economic and social contribution of the 30,000 apprentices currently training in Ireland.
Winner of the Apprenticeship Motor Award, Cameron McMeel said: "I'm thrilled to be recognised with the Motor Award. Thank you to all at Monaghan County Council for your encouragement and belief in me. This achievement makes me proud to represent Monaghan. It motivates me to continue developing my skills and knowledge."
