A Monaghan meteorologist is urging the public to enjoy the sunshine safely.
Up to 26 degrees is being promised nationwide, with Met Éireann showing a moderate UV Index over this weekend.
People are urged to apply sunscreen with a factor of 30 for adults and 50 for children.

Carrickmacross native Gerry Murphy is a metereologist with Met Éireann and is a weather presenter at RTÉ.
He says it is important that people stay safe while out in the sun, especially near water amenities.
