The Minor Injuries Unit in Monaghan Hospital is moving to a 7 days a week service from this weekend.
The extension to the opening hours of the Minor Injuries Unit will now the facility opening from 8am to 8pm 7 days a week.
Last year, opening hours of the unit were extended from 8am to 8pm Monday to Friday after a long campaign urging local people to use the facility to both increase numbers and reduce pressure on Cavan Emergency Department. Opening hours will now move to 8am to 8pm, 7 days per week, 363 days per year (closed Christmas Day & St. Stephen’s Day).
Monaghan Senator Robbie Gallagher says that this is very positive news for the Cavan/Monaghan region.
Senator Gallagher says he is continuing to encourage locals to use the facility when required.
