Monaghan Roads Policing Unit have been out in force so far this week and have detected a number of road traffic offences.
Detections have been made on the N2 in the Carrickmacross and Monaghan Districts.
In particular a number of vehicles enroute to the Donegal Rally were detected below the legal tint limit with fixed charged notices issued.
A number of drivers were also detected holding a mobile phone while driving.
A number of speeding offences were detected and other road traffic offences including novice drivers not displaying N plates and learner drivers driving unaccompanied and not displaying L plates.
Fixed charge penalty notices were issued for all offences.
