A Monaghan Senator is reminding people about the priority deadline for new applicants for SUSI grants.
People who apply will receive a priority assessment, so will know where they stand before the start of the college term.
The deadline is close of business today.
Speaking to Northern Sound Robbie Gallagher said you don't need to know your points to apply.
"There will be a large volume of applications as you can imagine over the summer month but to avail of a priority assessment if you apply before the deadline then you will receive that priority assessment and just note also that you do need your Leaving Cert results and you're not tied to the course that you apply on. You could put down the course of your choice and if you have to change it in due course online you can do so but just if it's not done before close of business it won't receive priority assessments."
