Aidy McHugh, a support worker at Canal View in Monaghan has been awarded the Rising Star Award at Praxis Care's Annual Staff Awards.
The Doohamlet resident was awarded for his exceptional commitment to empowering the people he support, through meaningful collaboration and community engagement.
Praxis Care, a leading Ireland and UK care charity, supports individuals with intellectual disabilities, autism and mental ill health, helping them gain independence, access education, and participate fully in their communities.
Aidy McHugh was awarded the Rising Star Award for his exceptional creativity, compassion, and commitment to person-centred care.
Since joining Canal View Monaghan last year, Aidy has made a remarkable impact - producing powerful review videos that deeply moved families and championing meaningful community engagement for residents.
Speaking to Northern Sound, Aidy described his work as "extremely rewarding."
Praxis Care's Canal View service offers support for adults with intellectual disabilities in a quiet residential area on the outskirts of Monaghan town. Staff provide tailored, person-centred care for up to four adults, promoting independence and active involvement in home and community life.
